Nagoya Mayor Takashi Kawamura added that the authorities will begin preliminary negotiations with casino operators and consultants to study the characteristics of this sector.

He also believes that the head of the city should be taken no more than 20-30 minutes from the train station if Nagoya decides to host the complex structure.

According to a study conducted by the Kyodo news agency, currently only two governors and one city apply for a license to create and manage casinos in Japan. This is Osaka, Wakayama and Nagasaki.

Nagoya, Kyodo report was chosen as the area that prefers casino centers, but did not make a final decision on this issue.

The law on the creation of integrated resort villages in Japan requires that local authorities make a formal decision on this issue in order to locate a casino on their territory.
